Evil Was Punished

Ok I didn't want to brag about this night so I will just give the facts as I recall them:

My buddy Asif and I went to the local pub for a couple of beers.

We started to remember how we used to rule the pool table back during university days.

We grabbed a pool table and started to play. We were both rusty, but after a few pitchers we were doing some sweet shots.

Next to us was a couple of guys playing. One of them was a short little loud mouth jerk who decided he was the Pope of the pub. We had to take him down.
We played three games and won two of them. When it was over, we went to shake hands and the little prick said," You know if I wasn't drunk right now I would have won!" I told him that we beat his ass fair and square. He started to talk shit and asked me to step outside.

I couldn't believe that he wanted to fight me over a game of pool so I asked him clearly, "Wait. Are you asking me to step outside?!"

He says, "Yeah. We could do that!"

So I told him to relax, it was only a game. Don't be like that. Come on let's shake on it.

The little jerk keeps whining about not being sober enough to play so Asif jumps in and says, "Bitch! We kicked your ass after having 6 pitchers!" (Asif is not a diplomat). We argue back and forth and the little jerk is taken away by his buddy.

We see him again later in the night and he still tries to push our buttons. Asif gets in his face and tells him to stop whining and do something about it. The little jerk backs down and then gets in my face.

Shit! I am trying to keep things cool all night and the prick starts mouthing off at me? So I make like I am going to backhand him and his buddies carry him off.

That was our night.

We still rule the pool tables, I managed to avoid a fight in a bar, and we detoured to the McDonalds afterwards for Royale with Cheese and "something with chicken on it".

I feel bad for Gerry though cause I kept calling him every 20 minutes to shout at him about what was going on. Poor Gerry. Happy Lent buddy and good luck with the studying.

Movies are Good Again

It was a tough week with lot's of set backs here and there.
Needed to just take a night off and file all the shit in a box labelled "tomorrow".
So I flipped through the movie listings and found absolutely nothing worth seeing.
In fact, I think the last time I actually went to a movie in the theater was about a year ago. The last time I saw a movie and really enjoyed it might have been YEARS ago.
So many times I got tricked by the advertising or the star-power of the actors that I went to see a mvie expecting to be entertained and only to be disaapointed and cheated out of my ticket money.
Want examples: Pirates of the Carribean 1 & 2, the entire Star Wars additions, 300, Oceans 13, Spiderman 3. The crappiness of the movie experience was so consistently dissapointing that I had all but given up on seeing movies in the theater ever again.
But then I saw "Be Kind Rewind". At first the low budget production, the lack of stars, and the way Jack Black normally annoys me, turned me off from seeing this flick.
Then I decided, "Hey, every other movie I saw that had better credentials let me down. Why not give this movie a fair chance to dissapoint me too?"
So I went to see this movie, hoping to turn off my brain for a couple of hours, with no expectations in the least. Then the unexpected happened:
It was GOOD!
Damn I laughed, and I laughed, and I laughed! It was so funny, sweet, and honest that it made me feel good about movies again.
The best critique I can say is that at the end of the movie when the credits were rolling, a lot of the audience didn't want to leave.
Go see it. Especially if you had a crappy day.
