Movies are Good Again

It was a tough week with lot's of set backs here and there.
Needed to just take a night off and file all the shit in a box labelled "tomorrow".
So I flipped through the movie listings and found absolutely nothing worth seeing.
In fact, I think the last time I actually went to a movie in the theater was about a year ago. The last time I saw a movie and really enjoyed it might have been YEARS ago.
So many times I got tricked by the advertising or the star-power of the actors that I went to see a mvie expecting to be entertained and only to be disaapointed and cheated out of my ticket money.
Want examples: Pirates of the Carribean 1 & 2, the entire Star Wars additions, 300, Oceans 13, Spiderman 3. The crappiness of the movie experience was so consistently dissapointing that I had all but given up on seeing movies in the theater ever again.
But then I saw "Be Kind Rewind". At first the low budget production, the lack of stars, and the way Jack Black normally annoys me, turned me off from seeing this flick.
Then I decided, "Hey, every other movie I saw that had better credentials let me down. Why not give this movie a fair chance to dissapoint me too?"
So I went to see this movie, hoping to turn off my brain for a couple of hours, with no expectations in the least. Then the unexpected happened:
It was GOOD!
Damn I laughed, and I laughed, and I laughed! It was so funny, sweet, and honest that it made me feel good about movies again.
The best critique I can say is that at the end of the movie when the credits were rolling, a lot of the audience didn't want to leave.
Go see it. Especially if you had a crappy day.
